Abot REC Library
The Raghu Engineering college library caters to the needs of more than 5000 UG, PG students and research scholars apart from about 225 teaching faculty. Presently the library is in a total covered area of about 1154 sq.m. having two air conditioned reading rooms with a capacity of 250 persons. There is also an Electronic Periodical Section through which 30 users can access online journals at a time. Beside this, they can also access from their Laptops, laboratories and departmental libraries. Apart from the main college library, the college has departmental libraries in each of the nine departments of the College. Library learning resources com/prised textbooks, reference books, scientific and technical journals, and standards in terms of both print and electronics
The College Library is automated with Bees software which connects almost all com/puters of the library and the different departments of the college. Books are issued through bar-coded membership cards to the students and faculty members of the College from the circulation section. The books and other reading materials are issued to the college students for reading room study from the issue counter. The Catalogue of the College Library is available on internet/intranet for search. Books are tagged for security.
The RFID security system and CCTV cameras are installed to ensure safety of the Library materials. The College Library is also equipped with Fire Alarm, manually operated fire extinguishers. Over 500 students, teachers and other members visit the Library almost every day. A register is maintained in the library and the visitor has to show his valid identity card at the entrance.
'New Arrivals' and 'Staff Publications' are displayed in showcases at the entrance of the Library. Two com/puters are installed for searching books through Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) at the entrance. The library runs from 9:00 am till 08:00 pm on all working days. During examinations, College Library runs from 08:00 a.m. to 10:00 pm and it also remains open from 09:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Sundays and in vacation. The library is having 04 qualified librarians, 02 library Attendants. The library offers photocopying service to students and staff on nominal charges.
The Rules of the library are decided by the User's com/mittee which consists of Principal, all heads of the department, Chief Librarian with the latter being the convener of the meeting and the Principal being the Chairperson. As College Library is automated, books are issued through the Software.
PERIODICAL SECTION
The College Library has a Periodical Section in which the magazines, News papers, print journals are available. The current issues of the subscribed journals are available in the respective departments as these are transferred there on their request.
ELECTRONIC SECTION
To inculcate the research culture among the students and staff com/munity this section was established in the year 2001. The College is a member of INDEST Consortium sponsored by AICTE and also a part of NDLI Club vide Club Registration No. INAPNC3UDQZNORK. The College Library is subscription to e-journals and e-books include IEEE, N List, DOAJ e.t.c. The College Library also has course specific software "NPTEL Audio Video Lectures" on LAN. Apart from the above, All these journals can also be accessed on college LAN. In a view to maintain the ethical values of researchers during their publications the library has an anti plagiarism software ‘Turnitin’

- Develop and maintain mutual relationships with other libraries in the region and with cultural and educational institutions.
- Attract and develop qualified and highly motivated staff those who are service-oriented.
- Create a work atmosphere of professional com/petence to achieve high standards of performance and productivity.
- Provide and maintain appropriate and upgraded facilities to enrich the learning-teaching process.
